Today’s Savannah Guthrie inundated with support as she receives career update

Savannah Guthrie is experiencing a whirlwind year, and it’s only just getting started!

The Today Show anchor and beloved television personality has recently added another significant achievement to her already impressive resume.

On February 25, Guthrie released her first children’s book titled Mostly What God Does is Love You, and it has already been met with rave reviews.

To top it off, this week, the book was officially named a New York Times Bestseller, a milestone that has brought much excitement to Guthrie and her fans.

In an Instagram post on Thursday, Guthrie shared the fantastic news with her followers, expressing her gratitude and excitement.

She also reposted several congratulatory messages from her celebrity friends,

including a heartfelt shout-out from CBS Evening News anchor Norah O’Donnell, who posted a photo of herself holding the book and wrote: “Congratulations @savannahguthrie on your beautiful number 1 bestseller.”

CNN’s Poppy Harlow also joined in the celebrations, posting her well wishes to Guthrie on social media. Additionally, her Today show colleagues, including Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager, couldn’t hide their joy. Kotb simply commented, “Yes!” while Bush Hager called her “Queen!” These supportive messages reflect the strong community Guthrie has built both personally and professionally.

A Heartfelt Message for Children

Mostly What God Does is Love You is a beautifully illustrated picture book aimed at young children, sharing a simple yet powerful message of love and compassion. The book’s premise revolves around the idea of instilling in children a deep understanding of God’s love from an early age. Guthrie’s synopsis for the book reads: “What if we shared this simple, beautiful, Biblical truth with our children from the youngest of ages—how different would we be? How wonderfully could this shape our perspectives from childhood on, knowing that the God who made all the wonders in creation—who hung the stars in the sky, who tells the wind where to blow—knows your name and loves you oh so very much?”

The book goes on to explore how God’s love is reflected in nature, celebrating the beauty of the world around us and reminding readers—both young and old—that they are cherished and loved by the Creator. It emphasizes the importance of sharing that love with others by being kind and compassionate.

A Family Affair

For Guthrie, the release of Mostly What God Does is Love You has been an emotional and personal journey. She has shared that her children, Vale and Charles, have been an integral part of the process, and they are, of course, big fans of their mom’s work. Guthrie and her husband, Michael Feldman, are parents to two young children, and the family has been supportive of her throughout this exciting time. Recently, Guthrie’s kids appeared with her on Today for an interview about the book, making the moment even more special.

One of the most heartwarming moments of the book’s release came when her former co-star, Hoda Kotb, surprised her at the book launch event. Guthrie posted a video of her shocked reaction when she saw Kotb there, visibly moved by the surprise. In her Instagram caption, she expressed her gratitude, saying, “Happiness is… your friend surprising—no, SHOCKING you—by showing up at your book event. @hodakotb there is just no one like you. My biggest cheerleader from beginning to end.” It was a touching moment that highlighted the genuine friendship and support the two share.

A Strong Start for Guthrie’s Book

The success of Mostly What God Does is Love You as a New York Times Bestseller marks an incredible achievement for Guthrie. This book is not just a literary success, but also a testament to her commitment to sharing love and positivity with the world, particularly through the eyes of children. It’s a beautiful addition to her already impressive career, which has included years of hosting on Today, a deep connection with her audience, and a personal life that she’s openly shared with her fans.

As Today continues to celebrate its milestones, Savannah Guthrie’s new chapter as an author proves that she is not only a beloved television personality but also a writer who is making a difference in the lives of young readers. With her passion, kindness, and dedication, it’s clear that this is just the beginning of an exciting new journey for the star.
