Well, that was fast. It’s only been two days since Tom Ford announced its new Cardi B-inspired lipstick shade, and the blue hue is already sold out.
The rapper’s namesake color — part of Tom Ford’s Boys & Girls collection — may still be available in stores, but per the Tom Ford website, it’s not online.
Cardi herself confirmed the crushing news in an Instagram post, complete with a seemingly celebratory picture of herself (who can blame her?).
The rapper did also quickly apologize (“Sorry:/…..), but there’s no word on whether or not the shade will be restocked.
If you’re feeling blue about missing out, though, the good news is it’s still possible to have your moment with a different blue stick.

It’s safe to say Cardi B is the queen of bold and colorful beauty looks — and her outfits at this year’s New York Fashion Week are no different, whether she’s rocking a leopard pantsuit or a classic black dress with statement earrings. Now, as if sitting front row at the Tom Ford show on Wednesday, September 5, wasn’t enough to make us psyched, Cardi is being honored by the designer with her very own lipstick shade bearing her name.
As noted by Elle, Tom Ford Beauty publicly unveiled the new color in an Instagram post on Saturday, September 8, although the official debut took place backstage after the show on Wednesday — yes, the same one where Cardi posed for pics with model Adriana Lima. The bright blue hue totally matches Cardi’s signature style and is part of the Spring/Summer 2019 Boys and Girls collection, which famously features lipsticks named after Tom Ford’s closest friends.
Cardi also responded to the announcement with an Instagram post of her own, writing: “Thank you so much @tomford and @tomfordbeauty!!! So excited for this and what’s to come!!”
We personally can’t wait to see her wearing her own color — and hopefully find out if she has any plans to collaborate with the brand in the future. In the mean time, you can snag your own tube for $36 and rock that bright blue hue to your heart’s content.
