Thanks to moms Gwen Stefani and Angelina Jolie, Shiloh and Kingston Rossdale had a close relationship growing up.

Being a child of a celebrity must be pretty cool, especially when it comes to the other cool children of celebrities that are in your inner circle of friends. 

Such is the case for Shiloh Jolie-Pitt, daughter of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, and her friend Kingston Rossdale, son of No Doubt lead singer Gwen Stefani and Bush lead singer Gavin Rossdale.

But not only is their friendship awesome and super adorable, the circumstances behind their mothers’ budding friendship is pretty interesting as well.

Starting off the friendship between the two children is the fact that they were born literally just one day apart from one another, Kingston being just one day older than Shiloh. 

Not only that, their mothers were also friends during the duration of their pregnancies.

It’s strange to think that if a certain movie role went to Gwen Stefani rather than Angelina Jolie, little Shiloh might not be here. Perhaps it was this fact that led Stefani to reach out to Jolie, to show that she had no hard feelings towards her for taking a role that she auditioned for. Either way, it almost seems like a friendship between the two children was inevitable.

Angelina Jolie And Gwen Stefani Had A Lot In Common Regarding Their Pregnancies And Deliveries

Their first play date happened before either one of them could hold their heads up properly. People Magazine posted an article stating that in the summer of 2006, at just 6 weeks old, Shiloh and Kingston were reportedly spending tummy-time with each other in the Jolie-Pitt residence in Santa Barbara. Surely the mothers had a lot to talk about, seeing as how they both had so much in common during their pregnancies.

According to a Vanity Fair article posted in 2008, Jolie opened up about having to deliver Shiloh via C-section in Africa. She was quoted saying, “I had a C-section and I found it fascinating. I didn’t find it a sacrifice and I didn’t find it a painful experience. I found it a fascinating miracle of what a body can do.”

Meanwhile, across the world in Los Angeles, California, Gwen Stefani would undergo a C-section just one day before due to Kingston being breeched. Surely this was a topic of conversation between the mothers, as this was a pretty shocking coincidence to their fans

Shiloh Jolie-Pitt And Kingston Rossdale Have Had Multiple Play Dates Along With All Their Siblings

In 2011, the Jolie-Pitt clan were spotted leaving the Stefani-Rossdale residence in London. Shiloh and Kingston were photographed wearing face paint, and sources told Popsugar that they spent the 4-hour play date eating noodles from a local restaurant and playing dress up.

Angelina Jolie and the kids were out in London visiting Brad Pitt while he was on the set of World War Z. They spent their time visiting museums and amusement parks as well as spending time with both their parents.

When discussing her friendships, or the lack thereof, Jolie has described Pitt as her “best friend” and has been quoted saying that he’s the only person she talks to. It’s also been reported that she didn’t have very many close friends, so when she struck up a friendship with Stefani, the bond was strong. It became even stronger when she got pregnant with her twins Vivienne and Knox around the same time Stefani was pregnant with her second son, Zuma.

In a quote from US Magazine, Jolie was reported saying, “Somehow [Gwen and I] keep ending up pregnant at the exact same time… We were having a play date and Gwen was trying to figure out what she was going to wear as she got more pregnant… I asked her if she had any spare clothes, and she gave me this [L.A.M.B. casual black] dress..”

It’s clear that the Jolie-Pitts and the Stefani-Rossdales are meant to stay close friends and their fans wish them the absolute best.
