Hollywood star Jennifer Lawrence made a name for herself by starring in independent movies during the initial years of her career.
She even received her first Oscar nomination for her performance in the 2010 movie Winter’s Bone.
She slowly made her way into popular franchises such as X-Men, making her debut as Mystique in the 2011 movie X-Men: First Class.
And followed by the 2010 movie, she appeared as Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games, which would go on to be one of the most popular franchises in Hollywood.
The film series only gave heights to Lawrence’s career and led her to become one of the highest-earning actresses in the industry.
However, Lawrence later opened up that she was hesitant to accept the offer for the franchise, which would establish her among the top stars in Hollywood.
Jennifer Lawrence Was Hesitant to Star in The Hunger Games
By starring in the multimillion-dollar franchise The Hunger Games, Jennifer Lawrence’s Hollywood career was able to take new heights. Although she had a flourishing career even before starring in the popular film series, the role of Katniss Everdeen made her a household name and led her to gain a worldwide following.
However, the actress later revealed that she was initially hesitant to accept the role in the first Hunger Games movie. Prior to The Hunger Games and the X-Men series, she was known for starring in independent films. So when she received the offer for the 2012 movie, she shared that she considered it too big for her.
“The truth was, from the bottom of my heart, I wanted to do it. I wanted to play this character. I was scared of the aftermath, but you can’t say no to things because you’re scared.”
Although she was scared and hesitant, the Mother star shared that she decided to face her fear and accepted the offer. “You just have to go for it,” she mentioned further in her statement. Despite her hesitancy and fear, Lawrence had a good time working on the movie and loved playing Katniss Everdeen on the screen.
Jennifer Lawrence Would Love to Return as Katniss Everdeen
