Emma Watson has opened up about her dating life – and that she struggles to meet potential suitors because of her fame.

Talking to British Vogue, The Bling Ring actress admitted that dating apps aren’t an option for her and that she relies on being set up.

‘Dating apps are not on the cards for me,’ she said. ‘I’m very lucky in the sense that, because I went to university.

And because I’ve done all these things out of film, my friends are really good at setting me up. Really good.

‘And what’s really nice is that even things that haven’t worked out romantically, some of my best friends are people I went on dates with.’

Emma admitted that she thought remaining close friends with exes was not realistic, until it happened to her.

‘I didn’t think it was possible, and it really is possible,’ she said.

Of her current single status, the Harry Potter starlet went on: ‘I never believed the whole I’m happy single spiel. It took me a long time. But I’m very happy. I call it being self-partnered.’

Asked whether she has suffered any sex fails over the years, Emma revealed: ‘I guess there’s been awkward stuff like making out and I’m on the telly behind us.

‘I can hear the Harry Potter theme tune and I’m like should I turn it off?’

The actress – who turns 30 in April – talked about her fears for reaching the milestone and the pressure of having a picture-perfect life.

‘I was like, “Why does everyone make such a big fuss about turning 30? This is not a big deal”, cut to 29, and I’m like, “Oh my God, I feel so stressed and anxious”,’ Emma said.

‘And I realise it’s because there is suddenly this bl**dy influx of subliminal messaging around. If you have not built a home, if you do not have a husband, if you do not have a baby, and you are turning 30, and you’re not in some incredibly secure, stable place in your career, or you’re still figuring things out… there’s just this incredible amount of anxiety.

Despite insisting she is happy being ‘self-partnered’ Emma- who rose to fame as Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter franchise- was spotted kissing a mystery man outside a London bakery two weeks ago.  

And Emma’s new term seems to be a nod towards Gwyneth Paltrow and Coldplay frontman Chris Martin’s famous catchphrase ‘conscious uncoupling’ which was used to describe their divorce when they split in 2014. 

The Beauty and The Beast star was last romantically linked to Dominic Piazza, with the pair spotted on several outings in August. She also had a brief fling with former Oculus CEO Brendan Iribe, 40.  

In August, it was also rumoured Emma was dating her former Potter co-star Tom Felton, 31, who played villain Draco Malfoy. 

The pair posted a snap on Instagram of them having an intimate guitar lesson in South Africa and social media followers quickly suggested they be referred to as ‘Dramione’ and ‘Feltson’.

Emma previously dated Glee actor Chord Overstreet last year, but they split after six months.
