Emma Watson reached the height of fame at just a very young age with her role as Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter series. But she has now stepped away from acting.
Since her last appearance as Meg March in 2019 Little Women, the actress hasn’t been seen in any other project.
After stepping away from acting, looks like Watson is ready to make a career behind the camera, too.
She has found a new passion for writing and directing, mainly for the luxury fashion house Prada.
The 33-year-old actress is even now pursuing a creative writing MA program.
As already told Emma Watson is now exploring new horizons despite acting. With writing and directing she also gives her efforts to social activism.
She is a vocal feminist, who advocates for girls’ education. She has also traveled to Bangladesh and Zambia to do so. The actress was also appointed as a UN Women Goodwill ambassador in July 2014. With the help of her position, she launched the UN Women campaign HeForShe.
Watson feels more creative stepping away from acting. The Hollywood star told Elle that she feels “so glad” that she “did [step away from acting]” continuing, “because I have this feeling of having my own voice and creative space and sovereignty in some way that I don’t think I did before — more autonomy.”
The Circle actress said she now found her true passion and she would never exchange it for anything. As she added:
“I’m so glad that I allowed things to be messy for a minute and to really allow myself to not know [what’s next], because the knowing that I’ve come to, I wouldn’t trade that for anything.”
The fact is that Hollywood gave Watson an enormous fortune. It started when she was too young.
Emma Watson has strong roots in acting. She has attended the Oxford branch of Stagecoach Theater Arts and received instruction in the art of acting.
She was only 9 years old when she got her first acting gig even though she had never set foot on a film set before. Still, Watson chose to walk out from her well-settled acting career.
She reportedly made (per Celebrity Net Worth) $70 million from the franchise (through starring in all eight movies of Harry Potter and having her famous face on its Merch).
Another flick, Beauty and the Beast also made Watson take home $15 million. As of now, the England native has not announced new projects on the horizon as an actor.
