The film tells the story of the filming of “The Prince And The Showgirl” in England in 1956 when Marilyn was 30, and living with her third husband. The film’s content focuses on her private life filled with personal struggles, on the way she is hindered by emotional melancholy, engulfed in self-doubt and drugs.

The disturbing silence in the film is almost a prelude to what will happen next, which is bittersweet: Marilyn returns to America to film her most iconic film “Some Like It Hot”. and 6 years later, she passed away forever.

“Michelle has the vulnerability of a little girl,” the film’s costume designer – Jill Taylor – said of the lead actress. “Like a deer, a real Bambi. I think that’s the feeling she brought to the movies she acted in, and it was really helpful with ‘My Week With Marilyn’. Because she understands and brings out the essence of Marilyn.” During preparation, Jill Taylor often visited Michelle to discuss film fashion and fitting.

Taylor said that applying Marilyn’s body measurements to Michelle so that Michelle truly resembles Marilyn is not simple. As for the underwear, because the movie is about Marilyn in the 1950s, it had to follow the shape and structure of underwear at that time. Taylor had to ask What Katie Did, a company specializing in retro underwear design, to create the cone bra.
