Kelly Ripa Jokingly Talks About ‘When I Pass Away’ as She Calls Out Husband Mark Consuelos

Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos have a playful relationship that often shines through on LIVE with Kelly & Mark.
The couple, who have been married for nearly 30 years, frequently entertain audiences with their humorous exchanges, and a recent episode was no exception.
This time, Kelly called out her husband over his tendency to take very few photos of her during their family vacations.

During the Tuesday, January 7 episode of LIVE, the couple discussed their New Year’s getaway with their three children—Michael, Lola, and Joaquin.

Kelly shared that their longtime producer, Michael Gelman, had asked to see vacation photos, prompting her to realize that she didn’t have any taken of herself.

“I took my usual 2,000 to 3,000 vacation photos of my family,” Kelly admitted. However, when she wanted to see pictures of herself, she humorously recalled telling Gelman, “Go get Mark’s phone because, as I recall, about six days ago, Mark took a photo of me, and I would like to see it.”
It was then that Kelly pointed out the recurring issue of her rarely appearing in vacation snapshots. “You know, there are never any photos of me on vacation,” she said before jokingly adding, “Like when I pass away—not to be macabre—but when I pass away, the only photos that will prove that I existed are paparazzi photos, so thank you, paparazzi.”
Never missing an opportunity to keep the banter going, Mark responded, “So when you pass away, am I in charge of dressing you? Choosing your outfit?” To which Kelly quipped back with a surprising revelation: “No, the outfit is already picked out, and it’s in the basement, and it’s in plastic, and it says, ‘In case I die.’” She further elaborated, sharing that it was a classic black Dolce & Gabbana dress, already prepared for the occasion.
However, the real comedic moment came when Kelly finally got her hands on Mark’s phone and scrolled through his photos. After searching, she found the single vacation photo he had taken of her, which left her less than thrilled. The image, which was later shown on LIVE, featured Kelly as a shadowed silhouette walking on the beach at sunset. While the setting was picturesque, her figure was barely visible, leading her to hilariously compare it to the infamous blurry images of Bigfoot.

“You know when they show Bigfoot?” she joked. “That’s like Little Foot.”
Fans of the couple appreciate their lighthearted dynamic and the way they bring their real-life chemistry to the morning show. Since Mark joined Kelly as co-host in April 2023, following Ryan Seacrest’s departure, their natural rapport has made LIVE with Kelly & Mark even more engaging for viewers.
Kelly and Mark’s love story dates back to their time on All My Children in the mid-1990s, where they first met. Their on-screen romance quickly turned into a real-life relationship, and in 1996, they eloped in Las Vegas. Nearly three decades later, their marriage remains strong, filled with humor, honesty, and playful jabs that keep their audience entertained.
While Kelly may continue to struggle with getting Mark to take proper vacation photos of her, their charming back-and-forth ensures that their fans are always in for a good laugh.
