but their latest revelation involves a text message mishap that included none other than Today’s beloved weatherman, Al Roker.

During a recent episode of Live with Kelly and Mark, the couple took a trip down memory lane to recount a time 

when a technical glitch led to some unexpected confusion in their relationship. 

The incident, which took place years ago, involved Ripa and Consuelos accidentally receiving each other’s text messages due to an issue with their shared cell phone carrier.

The Confusing Text from “Al”

As Ripa explained, the couple had exchanged numbers with Al Roker after meeting him at an event, intending to schedule a dinner together. 

However, a mix-up in their phone settings caused a text from Roker, meant for Ripa, to be delivered to Consuelos instead.

Consuelos recalled receiving a message that immediately caught his attention. “[It said] ‘Hey sweetie, when can we have dinner? Love, Al.’” he joked.

Ripa quickly jumped in to set the record straight. “First of all, it did not say, ‘Hey sweetie.’ That’s you putting your own twist on it!” she clarified, laughing.

Despite the misunderstanding, the situation led to a moment of comedic tension. “She gets back into bed, and I go, ‘Who the blank is Al!?’” Consuelos quipped, sending the audience into fits of laughter.

According to Consuelos, he was tasked with delivering the weather forecast on GMA and, in a moment of panic, found himself uttering Roker’s signature phrase: “And here’s what’s happening in your neck of the woods.”

For those unfamiliar, that phrase has been a staple of Roker’s forecasts on Today for years. Given that GMA and Today are rival morning shows, the blunder was particularly awkward.

“It just came out,” Consuelos admitted sheepishly. “I don’t even know if I realized what I was saying at the time.”

Ripa, ever the supportive wife, couldn’t help but poke fun at her husband’s mishap, telling the audience, “I’m sure everyone at GMA was thrilled with that.”
