Rihanna, the pop superstar and partner of rapper ASAP Rocky, has reportedly presented hard evidence in his court case that could prove his innocence.

The singer, who has two young sons with Rocky, is said to have submitted a video recording and a witness statement.
That contradict the allegations of assault with a firearm made by Rocky’s former friend and collaborator, ASAP Relli.
According to sources close to the case, Rihanna was present at the scene of the incident on November 6, 2021, when Rocky and Relli had a heated argument near a Hollywood hotel.

The sources claim that Rihanna witnessed the entire confrontation and recorded it on her phone.

The video, which has not been made public yet, allegedly shows that Rocky did not fire a gun at Relli, as Relli claims, but rather acted in self-defense after Relli attacked him with a knife.

The sources also say that Rihanna has provided a written statement to the court, in which she corroborates Rocky’s version of events and explains the background of their dispute.
Rihanna reportedly states that Relli had been harassing and threatening Rocky for months, demanding money and recognition for his role in the hip-hop collective ASAP Mob, which they both belonged to. Rihanna also claims that Relli was jealous of Rocky’s success and relationship with her, and that he blamed Rocky for the death of their mutual friend, ASAP Josh, who passed away in October 2021.

Rihanna’s evidence could be crucial for Rocky’s defense, as he faces two counts of assault with a firearm, which carry a maximum sentence of 14 years in prison. Rocky, whose real name is Rakim Mayers, has pleaded not guilty to the charges and maintains that he only pulled out a gun to scare off Relli, who had been stalking and provoking him. Rocky also denies that he shot at Relli, and says that the bullet fragments that Relli claims to have been hit by were planted by him.
Rocky’s attorney, Joseph Tacopina, has expressed confidence that Rihanna’s evidence will exonerate his client and expose Relli’s lies. “We are very grateful to Rihanna for her courage and support. She has been a pillar of strength for Rocky and his family throughout this ordeal. She has provided us with irrefutable evidence that proves Rocky’s innocence and shows Relli’s malicious and fraudulent intentions. We are confident that the jury will see the truth and acquit Rocky of these baseless charges,” Tacopina said in a statement.
Relli’s attorney, however, has dismissed Rihanna’s evidence as irrelevant and biased. “Rihanna’s evidence is nothing but a desperate attempt to save her boyfriend from justice. She is obviously not a credible or impartial witness, as she has a vested interest in the outcome of this case. Her video and statement are fabricated and do not match the surveillance footage and the testimony of other witnesses, who have confirmed that Rocky fired a gun at Relli and injured him. We are not intimidated by Rihanna’s fame or influence, and we will prove that Rocky is guilty beyond a reasonable doubt,” Relli’s attorney said in a response
