Rihanna shook the beauty and fashion industries after launching her inclusive lines featuring a variety of products for all skin tones and body types. 

Rumors are circulating Rihanna now might be coming for the skincare industry with her Fenty Skin line for consumers. 

These rumors started after it was revealed an application was filed to US Patent and Trademark Office’s in March to register ‘Fenty Skin’. 

The application was officially approved allowing for Rihanna to start her new beauty endeavor, whatever it might be, in the near future. 

Fenty Beauty already dabbled into the skincare industry with the release of Body Lava a shimmery body oil first introduced in 2018 to consumers wanting their body to match the glow from their highlighter. 

After a huge success of the shades, Rihanna released limited-edition versions over the holidays. 

She then announced at the end of March the release of two Fenty Beauty Body Lava ($59) shades again for a limited time. 

‘It’s festival season! We wanna see how y’all like to drip in #BODYLAVA at #Coachella,’ Fenty Beauty announced about the shimmering body oil.  

The popularity of the product could be a spark in Rihanna’s interest to extend her beauty line to include skincare. 

That, and the ever-growing skincare industry — which will be worth an estimated $134.5 billion this year to over $180 billion by 2024, Forbes reports. 

Rihanna’s patent application detailed what the Fenty Skin line would involve, and it included ‘medicated and non-medicated skincare, soap, body care, and personal care products (excluding color cosmetics, perfume, and other fragrance-only products), and related accessories such as kits, tools, and applicators.’

Details about the new potential skincare line are lacking, but Rihanna is a huge fan of sheet masks — makeup artist Priscilla Ono previously told Refinery 29 — so her new line could include the addition of those trendy products.

Rihanna worked with Priscilla on the Body Lava collection, so the makeup artist could potentially be involved if the new skincare line starts to develop in the near future for the brand. 

This has not been the first time rumors have circulated about a skincare line by Rihanna.  Buzz first circulated in 2017 when a fan discovered a filing for a skincare brand under ‘House of Fenty’. 

But nothing ever came from the discovery despite obvious fan excitement. 

Although the recent trademark was approved, the process could still continue for another three months as an attorney further reviews the application. 

Fans expressed their excitement online about the news of potential skincare line to complement the makeup they already own from Rihanna. But some fans also wanted Rihanna to get back to the studio and drop a new single.
