Beyonce has been dominating the pop culture landscape for well over a decade now.

But the busy performer—who was very involved in Disney’s live-action remake of The Lion King both as a voice actress and producer of the partnering compilation album The Gift—still puts her daughter Blue Ivy,

seven, and twins Sir and Rumi, two, above all else.

A source close to the 37-year-old star told People Magazine, ‘It might seem like her career would take up all her time, but it’s quite the opposite. Her career is always second and her kids are her first priority.’ 

‘She is a fantastic mom and very involved.’ Unsurprisingly, Beyonce and her husband Jay-Z, 49, make sure their schedules allow ample time to ensure that their kids are happy, healthy and fully engaged.

‘She’s busy making a schedule and taking care of her kids. She makes sure they have scheduled activities and tutoring,’ the source continued. ‘She loves being a mom and wants to be around as much as possible.’

When that proves difficult, Beyonce—known for getting other to bend to her will—combines work and family, as seen in Blue Ivy’s involvement in one of the tracks on The Gift album. 

Blue makes a cameo on the fifteenth track of the compilation record, dropped last week.

The song is called Brown Skin Girl, and Beyonce’s eldest daughter even received a writing credit for the song, on which she is heard singing a few lines.    

‘Of course both Beyonce and Blue love music,’ the source said of mom and daughter’s special bond. ‘Blue loves singing, dancing and performing. She is a natural.’
