Pax Thien – Angelina Jolie’s 19-year-old son – supports his mother in building the upcoming fashion brand Atelier Jolie.
The Vietnamese boy and his mother and younger sister – Zahara – participated in a photo shoot for Vogue magazine to promote the fashion brand launched in November.
Backstage, Pax Thien held a camera to take his own photos. . He is also the one who made the photo shoot video for Vogue magazine .
In an interview published on September 27, Angelina Jolie said that in the process of building the company, Pax Thien and Zahara participated and supported their mother a lot. Pax Thien researched designs to decorate the office, Jolie and Zahara found locations.
When taking photos, Jolie showed the Vogue reporter a canvas with the Atelier Jolie logo in white spray paint and expressed pride: “That’s my son testing it.”
Recently, Pax Thien has been pursuing work in creating mixed media and digital media visual art, under the stage name Embtto.
Pax’s works follow the style of abstraction, created from many media or materials. Since 2017, Pax has supported his mother on the set of First They Killed My Father (2017) in Cambodia. He helps the crew capture scenes and behind-the-scenes activities.
Atelier Jolie includes tailoring and recycling services, an artist gallery and a cafe in partnership with a refugee organization. The star said she wants to build a creative space with people she trusts, thereby rediscovering herself and looking towards the future.
On Vogue , Jolie said her children were a source of motivation and helped her get through difficult times: “Lately I’ve been feeling a bit bored. In some ways, I’ve lost myself in the past 10 years. Me and my children heal the trauma and affirm themselves. Life changed completely when I became a mother at the age of 26. Having children saved me and taught me a different way of life. I could have become worse if It’s not because of my desire to live for my children. I hope I can be a safe and stable support for them.”
In a 2021 interview with People , Jolie said her children’s kindness and wonderfulness healed her pain. Her priority is to support and develop all aspects of them.
After breaking up with Brad Pitt in 2016, Jolie kept sole custody of her six children, reducing her work to spend more time with them.
The star and her children often go out, walk around, and attend public events. Angelina Jolie has three adopted children – Maddox (22 years old), Pax Thien (19 years old), Zahara (18 years old) – and three biological children – Shiloh (17 years old), Knox and Vivienne (15 years old).
